What is Clash of Clans?

    Rush into battle with Clash of Clans! Clash of Clans is a mobile strategy game available on iOS and Android devices. The game was created by the developers of Supercell and released in 2012 and ever since then, continues to welcome millions of players to experience what it has to offer, new to the game and those who have been playing for a long time.

What to expect:

     Playing Clash of Clans, there is a lot to explore. Upon starting the game for the first time, the player begins their journey by being introduced to their plot of land or what will become their base. The main objective is to defend your base from other players who are looking to wreak havoc, destroy, and steal resources. Your base is equipped with defensive buildings like cannons, archer towers, mortars, and a lot more. Walls also act as barriers that slow down enemies from reaching the heart of your base called the Town Hall, one building you definitely want to be well protected. If the enemy is successful in their attack, they can gain resources and trophies, which you can gain by successfully defending your base and attacking others. Before you attack, an army is needed.

     Troops can be trained from the building called the barracks, with a variety to choose from that have unique abilities. To know if an attack went well, there are stars that you receive based on the percentage of damage done to the enemy. One star can be achieved if you deal 50% of damage, destroy the Town Hall, and completely destroy the base. The number of stars you get determines the number of trophies and resources you receive. If you fail to receive any stars, the attack is unsuccessful, and your trophy count goes down. If the enemy fails to receive stars from their attack, you receive trophies from your defense. Trophies, depending on the amount you have, put you in a specific division ranging from copper, the lowest, to legendary, the highest. Climbing the divisions puts you against more challenging enemies. 

    Gold, elixir, and dark elixir are the resources needed to upgrade your base which are obtainable from gold mines, elixir collectors, and dark elixir drills. As you upgrade buildings and troops, the higher levels they become, making them stronger and more efficient for the operation of our base. Upgrading the Town Hall unlocks more buildings, perks, and levels, making your base bigger and stronger. Every player gets five builders that do the building and upgrading, so use them wisely and as you choose. While upgrades are good, it takes time for them to complete, meaning it could take anywhere from 30 minutes to a week before they finish. Want to skip the wait time? Use gems! Gems can be awarded through completing challenges, removing trees and shrubs that grow around your base and bought as in-app purchases in different amounts. 

    Clans are a way for you to meet other players around the world of lower and higher levels by participating in events like clan wars. You can request and donate troops to your clanmates for them to use in battle. The clan can level up and unlock perks beneficial for everyone by winning clan wars. 

    Clash of Clans is a very fun strategy game that does require patience to see progress, but if you like a slow-paced game where you are in control of the gameplay, this is a game for you.
